The Route From Riabai to Kiambu
Riabai sits right alongside Kiambu Town, one of several villages, along with Ndumberi and Ting’ang’a, that border the town directly. This makes Elephant Dental Kiambu on Biashara Street one of the closest specialist dental options available to Riabai residents.
Why Patients From Riabai Choose Elephant Dental Kiambu
Being this close to Kiambu Town means a specialist orthodontic clinic is a genuinely local option rather than a planned trip. Elephant Dental Kiambu is a KMPDC-registered practice with every case personally assessed by Dr. Winny, and the braces price is confirmed in writing after an exam rather than estimated over the phone. Being open seven days a week, 8am to 5pm including Sundays, makes fitting in adjustment visits straightforward given how close the clinic already is.
Getting to the Clinic From Riabai
Given how close Riabai sits to Kiambu Town, walking is a genuine option for some residents, while a short boda boda or matatu ride covers the distance easily for those further into the village. This is one of the shortest trips on this list, which makes appointment planning genuinely simple, there is little need to build in extra travel time the way patients further out often do.
Why Riabai Residents Still Choose a Specialist Clinic in Town
Even with Kiambu Town this close, specialist orthodontic treatment, fitting and adjusting braces over a year or more, is a service concentrated in a smaller number of clinics with the right equipment and experience, rather than something every general dentist in the immediate area offers. Being this close simply means the choice comes down to which specific clinic to trust, rather than whether the trip itself is worth making.
What to Expect on Adjustment Days
Once your braces are fitted, routine adjustment visits typically take fifteen to thirty minutes, considerably shorter than the initial fitting appointment. Given the short distance from Riabai, many patients fit an adjustment visit into a brief errand run without needing to set aside significant time.

What the braces price Riabai patients pay actually covers
The braces price Riabai patients are quoted is per jaw rather than per package, so treating only the upper or only the lower arch costs less than doing both. Across Kenya a full treatment across both jaws commonly runs from KSh 60,000 to KSh 350,000. Your own figure is confirmed in writing after an examination, not estimated over the phone.
How long treatment takes, and what it means for the braces price Riabai patients pay
Most treatments run between twelve and twenty four months, which matches what the American Association of Orthodontists reports for most patients. Adjustment visits fall every four to eight weeks through that period, which is the part worth planning for if you are travelling in from Riabai. Simple spacing cases finish sooner and complex bite corrections take longer. See how long braces take for the detail.
Which type of braces you choose changes the price
Metal braces are the most visible and the most affordable, and they handle the widest range of movement. Ceramic brackets are less noticeable and cost more. Lingual braces sit behind the teeth and are the hardest to clean. Clear aligners suit patients who want something discreet and whose correction is within what aligners can achieve. Our guide to types of braces and what each costs compares them properly, and braces against clear aligners covers that choice on its own.
Do braces hurt, and what about retainers?
Fitting itself is not painful. What most patients notice is soreness for a few days after fitting and again after each adjustment, as the teeth begin to move, and it usually settles with ordinary over the counter pain relief. Our guide on whether braces hurt goes stage by stage. Worth budgeting for retainers too, since they hold the result once the braces come off and are the step patients most often forget to plan for.
